真知与半知

    四只青蛙趴在河面上漂浮的一根木头上。突然，水流急促，木头慢慢漂向下游。青蛙们十分兴奋，因为这是它们的第一次航行。

    没多久，第一只青蛙说道：“这木头真是神奇，它像有生命一样，能够自己运动，这可从没听说过。”

    第二只青蛙说道：“不，朋友，这根木头和其他的木头一样，都不能运动。是水流在运动，它流向海洋，从而带动了木头和我们。”

    第三只青蛙却说：“木头和水流都不能运动，运动的是我们的意识。没有意识，将不会存在任何运动。”

    究竟是什么在运动，三只青蛙为此争论起来，而且越争越起劲，声音也越来越大，但彼此仍不服气。

    第四只青蛙一直默不作声地认真听着各方意见。因此，它们转而向它，请它发表自己的言论。

    它说：“你们都对，也都说得有理。木头在动，流水在动，我们的意识也在动。”

    那三只青蛙听罢大怒，因为谁都不愿接受这个观点—自己的并非全对，他人的也并非全错。

    然后，怪事发生了—三只青蛙一起齐心协力把第四只青蛙推进了水里。

    Knowledge and Half-Knowledge

    Four frogs sat upon a log that lay floating on the edge of a river. Suddenly the log was caught by the current and swept slowly down the stream. The frogs were delighted and absorbed, for never before had they sailed.
