    就以圆周句来做个管中窥豹的例子吧。圆周句（the periodic sentence）是一种要到句子的末尾时意义才能完全显露、圆周才能合拢的句子。在前不久一部很红的电影《草叶集》里，开始不久时表现学院生活，那个花痴女生就是写了圆周句来向教授示爱的，并且是用拉丁语。王佐良在《英国文艺复兴时期文学史》介绍过西塞罗的圆周句对英语文学的影响：
